'Stones are thrown at you, turn them into milestones'

Sachin Tendulkar stands atop cricket's Everest but he isn't looking down at the cricketing world. That would be unlike him for he looks upon this game as a vehicle of fulfillment, as a servant rather than a master. There is a delicious irony to it. One of the most humble devotees of the game is himself an idol to so many.

Sachin Tendulkar became the highest scorer in Test cricket after surpassing West Indian legend Brian Lara in the ongoing second Test in Mohali on Friday. Of course, he knew he was going to get there. Elbows and ankles and many lesser known joints that he brought into public consciousness were the only hurdles. He has always maintained that if he played enough he would get the record.

He winced and he grimaced but his commitment to the game he loves saw him through. Tendulkar's phenomenal success lies as much in toil and perseverance and such hardy qualities as it does in the many gifts he has been bestowed with.

Only a few are given the opportunity to spread such cheer. Through diligence and toil, and magical ability, Sachin Tendulkar has done that.

Animation.... biG futuRe ahEaD....

"THERE was this family which adopted a mouse as their second son, and the mouse was good friends with them all much to the consternation of the family cat... Remember the movie `Stuart Little', wherein the protagonist, a little mouse Stuart Little, enacts all the human qualities. Credit for all this goes to the animation team."

Welcome to the world of film animation - a world where reality meets imagination, where dinosaurs walk across silver screens. This is a world of special effects, unbelievable graphics and exotic technologies that mesh and converge to create unbelievable real and virtual experiences. It's a world that beckons creative minds to unleash their power; and it's calling you!

Animation is the art of conceiving an action by drawing inanimate objects or characters, which are made suitable for filming. It has lately become so high paying a profession that it will soon be matching the pay packets of software professionals. The Indian animation market, fairly "static" until a few years ago, is suddenly waking up to a host of global opportunities that promise a lot of "action" for the country's leading design specialists. North American film and television programme producers (that boast worldwide networks) are finding it viable to sub- contract animation production activities to independent studios overseas. The demand for animation production services from international animation studios is thus spurred in large part due to India's lower costs of animation production and technical manpower to meet 2-D and 3-D animation requirements.

Animation is a blend of the entertainment industry and technology. The range of jobs available for a computer animator can be mind boggling. There is hardly any industry that doesn't require or use computer animators. These days animation is used in almost all the industries from automobile, pharmaceutical, medicine, aerospace, civil, and architecture.IT companies like Tata, Reliance, Satyam, UTV, Pentasoft, Rhythm & Hues, have jumped into the fray. International animation houses like Walt Disney studios, Paprika Animation Studio, Technicolor labs, SONY are looking at tie-ups with Indian animation companies too.

Nadal makes Dream Win

Beating Federer on grass was his final hurdle. The game of tennis will belong to him for the next four years. Congratulations, Rafael, on your first Wimbledon title. 7/6/2008, the beginning of the Nadal Rule.Wimbledon has a new king.

Rafael Nadal dethroned Roger Federer after a five-year reign by winning the longest-ever Wimbledon men's final. The consistently heartstopping 6-4, 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-7 (8-10), 9-7 classic began at 2.35pm and, thanks to a couple of breaks for rain (surely necessary for the spectators to catch their breath), it ended at 9.15pm with the 22-year-old from Mallorca dropping to the ground with his arms outstretched in celebration.

Watching the 4 hours and 48 minutes on-court action from the vantage point of the royal box was Centre Court legend Bjorn Borg. Nadal had matched the Swede's fantastic feat of winning the Grand Slams of Roland Garros and Wimbledon back-to-back and in doing so had prevented Federer surpassing the five titles in a row Borg collected between 1976 and 1980.

The 122nd Championships came to the most magnificent of conclusions in near-darkness on Centre Court as Spain's Rafael Nadal brought the five-time champion Roger Federer crashing to earth in the longest, and quite possibly the finest, men's final in the history of The All England Club.It was the 22-year-old Nadal, rather than Federer, who fell prone on the turf as flash bulbs went off in the gloom, in joyous celebration of capturing the title he has always said means more to him than any other.

... will miss my collage days.

The best time I ever enjoyed is my collage days. Those are the memories which cannot be wiped. Cannot forget the campus where we saw lots of ups and downs…

Seating on last benches… viewing best view of class… cracks PJs… can’t forget the lecturers… can’t forget those days when we were made to stand whole lecture… just waiting for lecturer to turn back…

It was very hard to attend lectures after lunch break… the eyelids huge to become heavy… it was the best time to do “day dreaming”… bunking was like a compulsory subject in each semester…

Writing assignments was the biggest task… always waiting for someone to write first… seating together to complete journals (*coping from previous journals). Practicals were like recreational activities, for entertainment… big smiles after last minute submissions (4.45PM).

Lots of controversies … strikes… romance(for some fortunates)… just cant imagine… cheering collage at inter collage festivals (mostly bad words!!…never knew when semester huge to get over… next Exam time!!! Lots of work… collecting notes… buying books… Xeroxing… huah!!! Reading those 500-600pages book in just one day…night shift too…

Exam day arrives… getup early in the morning (never got up, such early in last 6 months)... visiting the temples (lastly visited during last exams)… “Hey god you only can save me… now every thing is in your hand…”

Now combat starts… happy with first sentence “Make necessary assumptions if required”… then see the length of the paper… all questions seems to be from out of syllabus!!!... searching for familiar words… all confusion… don’t know from where to start… 15-20min over… now the new theories evolves… bell rings… cant believe 3hrs are over…counting marks… “hey god please give me at least 35 marks (+5$)… environment outside examination hall ”What the hell, the paper was… ??? we are only the unlucky batch… last years paper was so easy..”

Results were the most unexpected… cant believe… “ I just written 30 marks paper and I got 80”…”After attempting all questions I got just 34!!!”… Hoping to clear during reevaluation…

I don’t know when I will meet my friends again… wont get those full of “Masti” days again… it comes only once in your life… enjoy to fullest!!!

Why I was not born to witness history???

Mostly all hates to read histories… but there are some histories which just make you “dream” and say “why dint history repeats again??”

It was JUST 25 years ago on 25th June 1983 when 'Kapil Dev's men of miracles' beat the mighty (that time) West Indies to lift the Prudential World Cup and recorded a glorious day in Indian Cricket history.

In my life I have seen lots of cricket stuff but not witnessed such a sizzling moment. Last year “WE” become Twenty20 Champs in style… It was a best moment I saw till date… (Hope we don’t only celebrate 25th anniversary of this Win!!).

I have seen some AVs of this win and heard from lots of people about this win; this always makes me say “Why I was not born to witness such stunning Victory?? Will I able to see such sparkling moment in my life time or will have to satisfy only on these golden moments??? I hope, the history repeats and I could loudly shout “We are the World Champions!!!” some day.

Three Cheers for those magnificent men, their lure of playing for the nation, and winning the World Cup… Hey God “Why I was not born to witness history???”

Dream of Best Buddies

It was ma dream happening true of becoming an engineer…I joined ma engineering college. First day of engineering life… it was a beautiful morning with wonderful rain…really romantic climate (nothing to do with me)… All new faces… and some fear of getting ragged.

After few days of collage…a guy…double my size …fully professional looks…fresh cool face… entered our classroom. Started searching for place to seat, as seat next to me was empty; he just walked next to me and asked for place to seat. Actually I had reserved that seat for someone who I knew earlier…I don’t know what happened and I gave him the place to seat. Who knew that time, that this person would share bench with me for next four years…and accompany me in future… This was my friend “Y”.

It was math’s lecture going on, complete pin drop silence in class room, no one dare to do anything except for listening to lecture…Imagine … mobile rings!! Everybody stunned!!!(Next what would have happened you just imagine…). There are “no words” in dictionary to describe him… never ever done things on time and have lists of excuses (they are really the wonders). But still he is my best buddy “M” ever!!!

There was guy in our class, totally different and strange nature, and with complex data structure of mind… carrying out infinite loops of tensions…lots of Trojans in brains… imaginations out of world … born on April 1st(what else you want to know more about him??). He is ma another best buddy “P”, he is very very emotional, sweet hearted, ever helping nature…but truly unpredictable!!!

Hey my list of best buddies is incomplete without “K”. What to say about him…most loving nature… he just loves butterflies… he likes bird watching!!! He is always ready with full details of any birds…hobbies carried from childhood. Apart from his hobbies…he is totally business minded…never knows when he “deals” with you…he is exactly opposite of you think about him..!!!

Its mostly you have your best buddies, who have been with you for past no of years, whom you know the best… it was not same with me… I had never seen them before…dint know their background nor their culture… all from different corners of states…becomes my ever best buddies…
